GRAND PRIX

The Mission Viejo Nadadores' National and Senior Teams recently competed at the Grand Prix held January 18-21 at Belmont Plaza Olympic Pool in Long Beach. Some of the top competitors in the world, such as Michael Phelps, Erik Vendt, Mary Descenza, and Kaitlin Sandeno swam in this meet.

MVN's Jan Daniec took the Silver medal in the 1650 Free with a lifetime best time of 15:30.15.  He was also 4th in the 1000 Free, 11th in the 500 Free, and 13th in the 400 I.M.  Jan swam his lifetime bests in all seven events he swam.

Nadadores' Brock Redondo also swam very well, finishing 7th in the 1000 Free in his personal best of 9:24.64, 13th in the 500 Free, and 5th in the 1650 Free with another personal best of 15:45.21.

Our very own Meghan Dwyer swam to a 7th place finish in the 200 Back, 14th in the 100 back, and 10th in the 1000 Free with a personal best time of 10:14.13.  Meghan also swam to lifetime best times in the 200 Free with a 1:51.68 and the 400 I.M. in 4:29.05.

Other Nadadores scoring points were Meghan Brown finishing 14th in the 1650 Free, Spencer Woolkind with a 13th place finish in the 1000, and Tyler Weissman with a 14th in the 1000 Free.
